From Certification to Innovation: My Work at MeasureUp

 I authored the entire A+ Certified PC Technician training and assessment series, aligned with CompTIA’s early certification objectives. These materials introduced core IT concepts like hardware configuration, operating systems, and basic networking - serving as a foundational credential for thousands of aspiring IT professionals.

 As one of MeasureUp’s original technical writers, I developed MCP certification prep materials for topics such as Internetworking with TCP/IP and Windows NT. These tools included simulation-based exams, answer rationales, and adaptive learning elements - designed to reflect the structure and rigor of real Microsoft exams. 

MeasureUp’s training tools let users engage directly with realistic Microsoft Office and Windows simulations. We pioneered “live-in-the-app” technology — guided, interactive scenarios that mirrored real-world business tasks, so learners could build skills by doing, not just watching.

Each module provided task-specific, hands-on instruction with immediate feedback, including tips, corrections, and scores — accelerating retention and job readiness.

Whether for beginners or advanced users, our browser-based platform aligned with measurable objectives and integrated seamlessly with LMS or enterprise systems — all powered by our proprietary engine, AssessTech.

As Product Development Manager for MeasureUp's Technical Aptitude Test, I collaborated with PSI (Psychological Services Inc.) to develop a set of validated technical aptitude tests. These assessments measured verbal, numerical, symbolic, and visual reasoning to help individuals and recruiters understand which IT paths best matched their cognitive strengths. The tests were rolled out to training centers and corporate partners nationwide. 

 We embedded real-time feedback tools into our simulation platforms, enabling users to flag confusing items and submit comments with auto-tagged metadata. These inputs helped us refine question logic, respond directly to users, and create an early peer-informed knowledge base — a novel approach for its time. 

 As part of the MeasureUp founding team, I contributed to platform planning, technical content leadership, and innovation strategy. From shaping new product offerings to aligning development with market trends, I helped steer MeasureUp's growth into one of the first scalable, web-based certification training ecosystems.
